Do you enjoy watching your UPS Loggers beat rival teams? As you may well be aware, ice hockey is an expensive sport. The Universty of Puget Sound Ice Hockey team is a club sport, which means that only limited funds are supplied by the University for this team. Did you know that players themselves cover almost all the cost? Our players have to pay for equipment, ice time, gas, lodging, referees and more.
Attracting Students to UPS
One of the goals of the UPS Ice Hockey program is to attract prospective students to our University. If people hear that they can play or watch ice hockey while away at school, they just may choose Puget Sound over a number of other schools in the area. We're looking to build a solid ice hockey program that will attract quality players and put UPS on the map. There is no reason that with the right attitude, determination and funds, we can't turn our club team into a Varsity sport.
